Newhaven Fort
Valérie Egles / Florence Levasseur / Alice Schÿler Mallet, A Portrait of Pascal Cribier
A companion work to that on show in the old Co-Op, this series of short films made by the renowned French landscape architect Pascal Cribier reveal a dark creative energy, that contrasts with the brilliance and perfection usually highlighted in the discussions of his gardens. Instead, these works show an attraction to the broken and the chaotic, continually haunted by the concerns of landscape and ecology.
Diep~Haven and Fort Process co-presentation:
Chris Sciacca, Twin Transects: Parallel Walks in Newhaven and Dieppe
A film composed of location recordings envisioned as the soundtrack for a forthcoming experimental documentary film. The recordings were taken at ten longitudinal and latitudinal confluences along two equidistant walks through Newhaven and Dieppe, as well as on the ferry. The recordings address the concept of a greater regional and cross-cultural soundscape.
